- Usage Data: Pages visited, features used, time spent on the platform

2. How We Use Your Information
We use your information to:
- Process and fulfill your food delivery and rideshare orders

- Process payments securely through our payment processor
- Match you with available drivers for delivery and rideshare services

3. Information Sharing
We share your information only in the following circumstances:
With Drivers
When you place an order, we share necessary information with drivers including your name, phone number, delivery address, and order details to complete the service.
With Restaurants
For food delivery orders, we share your order details and contact information with the selected restaurant to fulfill your order.
With Service Providers
- Stripe: Payment processing (subject to Stripe's privacy policy)
- Google Maps: Location services and routing
- Discord: Order notifications and driver coordination (if you use Discord integration)
Legal Requirements
We may disclose information when required by law, to protect our rights, or to ensure user safety.
We never sell your personal information to third parties.
4. Data Security
We implement industry-standard security measures to protect your information:
- Encrypted data transmission using HTTPS/TLS
- Secure payment processing through PCI-compliant providers
- Regular security audits and updates
- Access controls limiting who can view your information
- Secure database storage with regular backups
However, no method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure. While we strive to protect your information, we cannot guarantee absolute security.
5. Location Data
DormDash uses location data to provide core functionality:
- Real-Time Location: Used during rideshare trips to show driver location and optimize routing
- Delivery Addresses: Stored to facilitate order fulfillment and provide accurate delivery estimates
- Traffic Data: Used to calculate accurate arrival times and pricing
You can control location permissions through your device settings, but this may limit certain features.

Order history and transaction data are retained for 7 years for legal and accounting purposes. You can request deletion of your account and associated data at any time.

DormDash is intended for use by college students and adults. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13. If we discover we have collected information from a child under 13, we will delete it immediately.

- Updating the "Last Updated" date
- Sending email notifications for material changes
Continued use of DormDash after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.

Terms of Service
1. Acceptance of Terms
By accessing or using DormDash, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to these terms, please do not use our platform.
DormDash is a platform connecting college students with delivery drivers for food delivery and rideshare services. We do not own, operate, or control restaurants or drivers.
2. User Conduct
When using DormDash, you agree to:
General Conduct
- Provide accurate delivery addresses and contact information
- Be available to receive deliveries at the specified location
- Treat drivers, restaurant staff, and support team with respect
- Not engage in fraudulent, abusive, or harassing behavior
- Not attempt to manipulate pricing or exploit the platform
- Not use the service for illegal activities
Order Guidelines
- Accuracy: Double-check your order details before submitting
- Availability: Be available at the delivery location during the estimated delivery window
- Communication: Respond to driver messages and calls promptly
- Special Instructions: Provide clear delivery instructions if needed
- Age-Restricted Items: Be prepared to show valid ID for alcohol or age-restricted items
Prohibited Activities
- Ordering with intent not to pay or receive the order
- Falsely claiming non-delivery to obtain refunds
- Harassing or threatening drivers or staff
- Requesting drivers to violate laws or platform policies
- Attempting to reverse engineer or hack the platform
Violation of these terms may result in being banned from using the platform and/or legal action.
3. Service Offerings
DormDash provides the following services:
Food Delivery
Students can order food from local restaurants for delivery to campus locations. Pricing includes:
- Base delivery fee: $4.99
- Mileage charge: $0.89 per mile
- Time charge: $0.39 per minute
- Special restaurant fees (e.g., In-N-Out: $4.99)
- Optional tip for driver
Rideshare Services
Students can request rides to/from campus. Pricing includes:
- Base fare: $4.99
- Mileage charge: $0.89 per mile
- Time charge: $0.39 per minute (using real-time traffic data)
- Optional tip for driver
All rideshare times displayed account for real-time traffic conditions in both directions.
4. Payments, Fees & Refunds
Payment Processing
- All payments are processed securely through Stripe
- Payment is only charged after a driver accepts your order and you confirm the final price
- You will see the total cost before payment is processed
- You must provide valid payment information
- Tips are optional but encouraged for quality service
Pricing & Fees
- Prices are calculated based on distance, time, and service type
- Real-time traffic data is used for accurate time estimates
- Special fees may apply for certain restaurants or services
- Pricing is shown before you confirm your order
- Surge pricing may be implemented during high-demand periods
Refund Policy
Refunds may be issued in the following cases:
- Non-Delivery: Full refund if order is not delivered
- Incorrect Order: Refund or redelivery for wrong items (must report within 30 minutes)
- Quality Issues: Case-by-case evaluation for food quality complaints
- Driver Cancellation: Full refund if driver cancels after accepting
- Service Issues: Partial refunds for significant delays or service problems
No Refund Situations
- Customer unavailable at delivery location
- Customer provided incorrect address
- Customer changes mind after order is placed
- Minor delays due to traffic or restaurant preparation time
- Customer dissatisfaction with restaurant food (not related to delivery)
- Orders placed more than 24 hours ago without prior complaint
To request a refund, contact our support team with order details and reason for the request.
5. Cancellations
Customer Cancellations
- Before Driver Assignment: No charge (order not yet accepted)
- After Driver Assignment (within 2 minutes): Full refund
- After Driver En Route: No refund (driver compensation paid)
- After Pickup: No refund
Driver Cancellations
- Drivers may cancel before pickup without penalty
- Customer receives full refund for driver cancellations
- Excessive cancellations may affect driver standing
6. Liability & Disclaimers
Service Disclaimers
- DormDash is a technology platform connecting users with drivers
- We do not control restaurant food quality, preparation, or ingredients
- We do not control driver behavior during delivery
- Delivery times are estimates and not guarantees
- Service availability may vary based on driver availability
Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law:
- DormDash is not liable for food quality, allergic reactions, or foodborne illness
- DormDash is not liable for accidents, injuries, or property damage during delivery or rideshare
- Total liability is limited to the amount paid for the specific order in question
- We are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages
Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold DormDash harmless from any claims arising from:
- Your violation of these terms
- Your violation of any laws or regulations
- Your violation of third-party rights
- Your use of the platform
7. Dispute Resolution
For any disputes:
- First Contact Support: Contact our support team to resolve the issue
- Informal Resolution: We will attempt to resolve disputes informally
- Arbitration: If informal resolution fails, disputes will be resolved through binding arbitration
- No Class Actions: You agree to bring claims individually, not as part of a class action
8. Modifications to Service & Terms
We reserve the right to:
- Modify or discontinue services at any time
- Update pricing and fees with notice
- Change these terms with notification to users
Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance of new terms.
9. Governing Law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of California. Any disputes will be resolved in the courts of Los Angeles County, California.
